Hahahahhahahahahhahahahahahaha!

Ahhh... the proliferation of user controlled media content.

You'd think it known that you are to trust Wikipedia as much as you'd trust Glitter to babysit your niece, apparently not.

I picked this up from the b3ta newsletter this week and just had to pop it in here for safekeeping.

Man City, fresh from their corporate whoring to the Arabian peninsular have drawn a little known Greek team in the UEFA cup named AC Omonia. As result of the fact no one knows sod-all about this little Feta cheese eating outfit B3tard "Godspants" popped on to Wikipedia and added on this little factoid:

"A small but loyal group of fans are lovingly called "The Zany Ones" - they like to wear hats made from discarded shoes and have a song about a little potato."

Now, that's pretty funny, definitely not as funny as what Mirror writer David Anderson did with said factoid.

http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2008/09/18/new-look-manchester-city-side-begin-their-uefa-cup-campaign-in-earnest-115875-20741334/

Now that is some infinitely funny shit, let me quote:

"Despite City's raised profile, they must make do with the UEFA Cup this season and Hughes will not tolerate any slip-ups against the Cypriot side, whose fans are known as the 'Zany Ones' and wear hats made from shoes."

What? Nothing about the little potato song?

Something tells me "Mr David Anderson: Lazy Arsed Hack" will be going back to proof reading horoscopes.
